Maternity, maternal, de maternidad, de maternité, Mutterschafts-, 妊婦の....

If there’s one thing I know, it’s that babies will still be born all over the world all the time. And maternity photos, no matter how you say the word, are still worth it. Do you remember your body when it hosted another body?

Here are a few favorites in triplicate of some recent maternity shoots. I typically recommend a maternity session happen around 34 weeks (big enough for the point to be clear, but before those last waddling days), but I am happy to do a session at any point (and you can see some of these sessions were anywhere from 24 weeks to 38 weeks!).

I love to do maternity sessions because it’s one of the opportunities to get the most creative - I love to try new things and create something unordinary to tell the story of these days.

I love to photograph the whole gamut of the process - from belly to birth to baby - and so a maternity session is included in your newborn photos (or, depending on your perspective, newborn photos are included with your maternity session). I also have a client closet of maternity dresses to wear for your session if you can’t decide on an outfit.

If you’re having a baby soon and want to capture this revelatory time, I’d love to hear from you!
