Martha's Vineyard Newborn Studio #BehindTheScenes

After years of carting my newborn gear to new parents’ homes to do my sessions, this past year I finally had my own studio space to use in the spare room of the garage we were living in on the mainland for the year. I was so proud of that space because I had renovated it myself. That experience only encouraged me to pursue my long-held dream of my own newborn studio here on Martha’s Vineyard - and while I do still do in-home sessions (they are considered more “lifestyle” sessions, rather than posed), I am so in love with my new creative space to host the tiny babies.

I recently welcomed my friend and colleague Jeanna Shepard to my studio to document some behind the scenes in my new space with sweet Finn for The Vine. All of the photos of me in action are hers - juxtaposed with my finished shots, so you can see what it looks like from the outside and what it looks like to me.

Newborn babies are my true passion (besides and in addition to birth photography) and if you’re having a new baby soon I’d love to photograph them in my new studio space.
