Senior Portraits: The Pre-Commencement Rite
As proof that your senior photo lasts forever, here is mine from 25+ years ago (taken by my mother). I remember this was the last shot of the roll (these were strictly film days) and isn’t that always the way.
While my usual focus is newborn photography, another school year is set to begin and that means that all the children are getting older. Just like birth photography, where the finish line is really just the starting line, senior year is only the end of the new beginning.
This in-between time, the cusp of what was and what will be, is an important transition to document. Traditionally the senior portrait incorporates some aspect of hobby or passion - whether directly, as object in the photo, or indirectly - for example, many seniors want their portraits on Martha’s Vineyard because the place itself is the meaningful element.
Whatever your style, senior portraits on Martha’s Vineyard are a testament to a special time and place. Get in touch now to discuss your session options!
